Short Bio :

         Karan Chavis has performed in venues across the country. She is accomplished as a jazz, blues, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and country vocalist. She writes and performs her own material and covers works from such artists as Anita Baker, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, and Bonnie Raitt. Her sultry voice spans a number of ranges making her energetic performances entertaining and memorable. Karan has performed in shows billing such notable music greats as B.B. King, Aaron Neville and the Neville Brothers, The Duke Ellington Orchestra, Bo Diddley, Kirk Whalum, Larry Carlton, Ricky Trevino, Joe Diffy, The Lynns, Storyville, Marcia Ball, Ian Moore, and Asleep at the Wheel.

        She has performed at many venues among which are the Lincoln Theater in Washington D.C., The George Bush Presidential Library, the American Club in Tokyo, Japan, and Reliant Stadium. The City of Austin, Texas declared "Karan Chavis Day" in recognition of Karan's talent and hard work, and she has been voted among the top ten "Best Female Vocalist" in the Austin Chronicle Music Awards. Karan's songwriting experience includes work with professional music publishing companies and optioning of material by professional recording artist. In 2004 her song "Pain In My Glass" was featured on a nationally broadcast television production.
